You Can Do to Unlock Tour Samsung Galaxy S3
There are many reasons for unlocking your phone. And most often than not, you will find that your carrier won’t help you with that. And the reason is simple, they just don’t want you to go.
Here are few things that you can do to unlock your Samsung
Galaxy S3 yourself:
Unlocking your phone without the carrier approval –
First, you have to make sure that you are running Android 4.1.1. I have found that on some devices, this unlock doesn’t work even if they are running Android 4.3. You can check the version of your device, by going in Settings, and then scrolling down until you find About Device.
Next, open the dialer, and enter this code – *#197328640#
Once you enter this code, a Service Mode Menu will open. Here you have to select the 1st option, that is UMTS. If this option is not the first one, then too its fine, but make sure that you select UMTS.
After selecting the UMTS option, there will be a new menu with different options. Here again, you have to select the first option, that is DEBUG SCREEN. After you select this option, there will be a new menu. There you have to select the 8th option, that is PHONE CONTROL. Again, there will be a new menu, and this time you have to select the 6th option that is NETWORK LOCK.
Now you should select the 3rd option, that is Perso SHA256 Off. After selecting that option, you will have to wait for half a minute, and then press the Menu button, after that, select back. Here you have to select the 4th option, that is NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
After selecting that option, wait for 1 or 2 minutes, and then reboot your phone. You will not be prompted to reboot, so make sure that you remember this. Once you have rebooted, insert the new sim card (this should not be of the same carrier as before). If your device does not ask for any unlock code, then it has worked for you. But if it does, then there might be some issues, or maybe you have not followed the process in the exact same way.
